The Visual Journey of Nusrat
Singing in Urdu and his native Punjabi, as well as Persian, and blending traditional stylings with a vast array of outside textures, Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan is much credited for the modern evolution of Qawwali. While his recordings are legendary, it was his live performances that truly captured the spiritual intensity of his art.
Live performances often lasted for hours, with Nusrat and his Qawwali party creating a hypnotic atmosphere that transcended language barriers.
