A great fusion by NFAK (Classical, Folk, Filmy & Western.. All In One)

Every time I listen to something great from NFAK, I feel what more can he give me now?, well he always proves me wrong with something new, better and greater … Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan was a living “University Of Music” in himself, If a man can grab the familiar tunes and musical environment of a country just by listening to their TV advertisements, and then incorporate it in his music almost instantly….then, Jeff Buckley was absolutely right in quoting “he did’nt play music, he was the music”.
Back to story… yesterday I heard something amazing from NFAK, a fusion of Classical Music, Folk Music & Western tunes… A great composition & innovation…
While NFAK sings Raga Tilak Kamot, Taraman Naz & Salama Aga(fame, Dil Ke Armaan) sings folk and contemprory music respectively, surrounded by all sorts and varities of classical as well as western instuments… Everything perfectly into place.
Take a look…

Nusart Fateh Ali Khan – Live At National Theatre Tokyo, 1987 Part 1

Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan, Live in Tokyo , Nusrat Online

Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan, Live At National Theatre Tokyo

The following Songs were recorded during NFAK’s first visit to Tokyo in 1987. He was invited to perform at the prestigious National Theatre first for a series of performances & later at the King’s Residence, who was deeply moved by NFAK’s music. The response & respect NFAK got at Japan, moved NFAK himself, making it his favourite visiting country.

So here are the audio recordings of the concert. Listen to Haq Ali Ali Especially (you might not notice but NFAK sang it in with a five notes scale, the usual Japanese music trend). And here we go:

Tracks:

Allah Hoo
Haq Ali Ali (Ali Maula Ali Maula)
Shamus Ud Doha BAdar Ud Doja
Allah Mohammad Char Yar

Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan Vs Ustad Miyan Shaukat Hussain Khan

If this doesn’t blow your heads off then Nothing can, Ustad Miyan Shaukat Hussain Khan (on Tabla) .. is from same family of Diddar Hussain (Punjab Gharana) and was regarded one of the best Tabla players of his era..

Ustad Mian Shaukat Hussain Khan

The following event took place on of the Barsi’s of NFAK’s father Ustad Fateh Ali Khan ( NFAK loved him more than any one else and every year conducted a tribute Classical program that was attended by best Ustaads and music personalities of Pakistan and sometimes India too), You might have never seen such a powerful Nusrat before, truly raw, organic & classic. NFAK gave USTAD SHOKAT HUSSAIN a very hard time . but at last look at at how happy they are and how much they are enjoying..
